I have always been a Fender guy, and as a professional Player I was always aware of Gibson LP’s great sound but never wanted to carry such a heavy load. Let me sincerely tell you, 27 yrs later I missed out. I can’t put this beauty down. I play this through a boutique overdrive pedal straight into a Vintage ’66 Deluxe (oh yeah) and the sounds that come out of it are too insane. If you play any type of Rock this is the one for you, great for Blues and Jazzers too. This instrument is guaranteed to please, worth the extra $$. and it just looks cool, very sweet indeed. I have to mention I have the action set extremely low and it still resonates well. Gibson got it right with the VOS line, it think you’ll hear that straight down the line. Gibson customer support? I called for a question about a manufacturers discount I received from them when I graduated MIT in Hollywood, the rep over the phone sounded like he needed some sleep and wasn’t helpful in anyway. So I have a feeling they are nothing close to Taylor Guitars in the customer service department but then again I never had to call the Manufacturer about defects on any of my ‘many previous’ guitars so it shouldn’t be much of an issue. This instrument was built for the pro’s, or anyone that simply wants a premium grade instrument and can afford it.
